The iconic Washington Monument in the District of Columbia is a conspicuously strong subject and can be almost be overwhelming in a scene, but I love how the sunrise sky together with the bright green springtime lawn forms a Rothco-esque color field around the monument, taking the edge off its dominant form like a the company of a good friend.
