Sail Away
When I was a kid my dad used to take me sailing on a boat like this. From Hickam harbour, we’d set a course for the open ocean and if the weather was ideal we’d go all the way to Diamond Head crater at the far end of Waikiki Beach. The world was our oyster, we had so many adventures there. This image brings back so many memories from my childhood growing up in Hawaii and every trip I have a chance to take there. Can’t wait to get back. Aloha!

Design Inspiration
This image reminds me of a Mark Rothko painting, giant canvases covered in great fields of color. The genius of Rothko was his ability to evoke powerful emotions by the sheer size and magnitude of the huge swaths of color he painted. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. Pictured left is a 40″ x 60″ silver-crystal print, framed with a 4-inch Roma Tabbachino series frame: Italian olive wood with a cigar-leaf stain finish. I chose a white linen liner tie-in the sky as the boat sails off into the horizon.
